Bula Bula

We reached New Caledonia some days ago and are safely moored at Port Moselle in Noumea. The reach from Fiji was one of the best of the whole Pacific, only the second night being frightening with squalls and lightning all around us.
Looking back to our time in Fiji means to have many good memories: “bula-bula” means hello-hello and that’s what you will hear all the time. On our hikes in the mountains we often heard a friendly „bula-bula“ from the bushes, where a local was collecting yams in the rainforest.
Savusavu is a lovely little town where you can get local food but also find Chinese and Indian restaurants. The market is well stocked and taxis are cheap. The Copra Shed Marina is a lovely place with some small berths and a number of nearby moorings.
Vinaka Fiji – thank you!
